Deposits value in Ukrainian banks amounts to almost UAH 1, 3928 billion

As of April 1, 2025, the total value of retail deposits (including sole traders) in Ukrainian banks reached UAH 1, 3928 billion.

Of the total amount of deposits as of April 1, 2025:

  • deposits in national currency – UAH 892.8 billion
  • deposits in foreign currency – UAH 500.0 billion

The share of the sole traders in the structure of deposits as of April 1, 2025, amounted to 3.2%, and in the structure of the amount of deposits – 11.2%. The total amount of their deposits amounted to UAH 156.6 billion. It should be noted, that deposits of sole traders are covered by the DGF.

As of April 1, 2025,the distribution of retail deposits in the banking system by size is as follows:

Recall that starting from April 13, 2022, the date when the Law of Ukraine “On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine on Ensuring the Stability of the Household Deposit Guarantee System” entered into force, 100% guarantees apply to the deposits of individuals (including sole traders), during the martial law in Ukraine and for three months after its cancellation or termination. After the expiration of three months from the date of cancellation or termination of the martial law, the maximum amount of guaranteed compensation for depositors in Ukrainian banks shall not be less than UAH 600 thousand.

All banks of Ukraine are members of the DGF. As of April 1, 2025, there are 60 banks in the DGF register.
