In the three quarters of 2023, the amount of funds received by the banks managed by the Deposit Guarantee Fund (hereinafter – the DGF) totaled UAH 6,425.8 million, including UAH 5,034.2 million from the sale of assets, UAH 680.1 million from loan repayments, UAH 165.9 million from the redemption of securities, UAH 91.6 million from property leases, and UAH 454.0 million from other sources (correspondent accounts, enforcement proceedings, etc.).
In particular, in September 2023, the banks received UAH 1,152.2 million, including UAH 932.4 million from the sale of assets:
- UAH 683.0 million – JSC ‘IR BANK’;
- UAH 103.1 million – JSC ‘MEGABANK’;
- UAH 97.5 million – PJSC ‘Prominvestbank’;
- UAH 45.8 million – JSC ‘BANK SICH’.
Additionally, in September, the banks received UAH 127.1 million from loan repayments, UAH 57.1 million from the redemption of securities, UAH 4.7 million from property leases, and UAH 30.9 million from other sources (correspondent accounts, enforcement proceedings, etc.).
In order to minimize the negative impact of the war, the DGF has updated the terms of loan repayment for the borrowers of the banks managed by the DGF. At the same time, the DGF calls upon borrowers to continue to fulfill their debt obligations if they have the financial capacity to do so, so as not to accumulate a loan debt burden.
Moreover, the DGF reminds the tenants of real estate of the banks being liquidated of the procedure to pay the rent for the use of the real estate, as well as its return to the bank in case of expiration of the lease agreement or termination of the leased property use.
It is to be recalled that the funds received from the liquidation and sale of property (assets) of the insolvent banks are channeled by the DGF to satisfy the claims of these banks’ creditors in the order provided for in Article 52 of the Law of Ukraine on the Household Deposit Guarantee Scheme.
